The Ex by Freida McFadden

Scenario:

Cassie thinks she has met the perfect man.

Joel is sweet, handsome, romantic, and best of all, he’s crazy about Cassie. She thinks she’s found the guy she’ll spend the rest of her life with. Have children with. Grow old with.

Yes, she knows about his perfect ex-girlfriend, Francesca. The beautiful, brilliant chef, beloved by all his friends. But she thinks Francesca is out of the picture. She thinks Francesca is gone for good.

Think again, Cassie

This was a message I posted in the Freida McFans Facebook group. Y’all…I seriously thought I was 99% sure I had this book all figured out! Well, I didn’t and can’t stop laughing at how confident I thought I was in figuring out the twists and turns. If you have never read one of her books, you are totally missing out. Like, seriously missing out!

If you have read any of my previous posts, you know that DO NOT DISTURB by Freida McFadden is my favorite. Until now…this one has now taken the top spot! How she can write a book and keep you guessing the entire time is beyond me. Other than the quick, page-turning read, I love how she incorporated one of my favorite books into this one – Wuthering Heights! I seriously may have to pull out that book and reread it.

I do want to share what I thought was the twist and turn so if you have not read this book and would like to, do not keep reading. Instead, go to Amazon Prime and read this book (for right now) at no cost to you (I could have said “free” but anyone who teaches Economics knows to never say the word “free” – TNSTAAFL). So, Happy Reading!

Spoiler alert….so stop reading blog post if you have not read this book. But, if you want to know my theory that turned out to not be true, keep reading (but, again, if you want to read this book, don’t read anymore).

Like, seriously, do not read anymore.

OK… so I was absolutely confident that Francesca’s ghost was haunting Cassie. I really, truly thought that Joel made a “deal” with her for her to never leave him so after her death, she was out to protect him and be with him at all costs. I mean, that storyline totally fits a “Freida” theme. I also bet many readers, who love Wuthering Heights, probably thought the same thing! But…this was not it, and I am not going to give details into the big twist at the end. The ending…wow…just wow!
