Cookbook Review: Love Welcome Serve and cinnamon rolls

Cookbook Review: Love Welcome Serve by Amy Nelson Hannon and cinnamon rolls

Today was a day my youngest and her friend were to make cinnamon rolls.  There is a bread machine recipe I always use that is quick, easy, and delicious.  However, last night, I realized I did not have enough bread flour to make two batches of cinnamon rolls.  This morning, I went to two different grocery stores and found no bread flour.  I guess the previous demand for flour has caused the industry to not focus on bread flour but regular flours for now.  I have no clue but it was rather unusual to not find any bread flour.  The girls were able to make cinnamon rolls using my bread machine recipe.  On the other hand, I got busy searching for another recipe that did not use bread flour.  I decided to skim through this cookbook a dear friend gave me when I turned 40.

This cookbook is a beautifully laid out cookbook.  Every time I flip through the pictures, I want to hit every antique store to buy these fun, vintage dishes she uses throughout the cookbook. Seriously, look at these dishes!!!! How fun!!!!! I think, however, if I started buying more dishes, my husband would scream considering the abundance of blue willow dishes I already have. 😬

This cinnamon roll recipe was easy to make but lengthier than my bread machine version.  It is definitely one that I would use on the weekend, though.  Although it takes more time, it is worth it!

…it rose without problems…

…the second rise went without problems…

…and cooked to perfection…

Although these were double-frosted cinnamon rolls, I chose not to use the glaze and cream cheese frosting.  I only used the cream cheese frosting.

This is a great cookbook to buy not only for yourself but as a gift.  The recipes are doable and delicious.  Majority of the ingredients are items many households would have in the kitchen.  As Julia Child would say, “Bon Appetit!”
