Lesson Plans – Economics

Nothing brings me more joy like sharing my work with others. If something works, why not share it with others? Educators are known for “stealing” ideas or recreating something to work for your particular students. I will begin uploading lessons to this page (will be a work in progress). I do not take credit for all of these lesson plans. I have tweaked many of the ones you can find online. However, many of these lessons are mine I specifically created. If you choose to use one of my lessons, please give credit where credit is due (my personal lessons cannot be sold).

Great Depression…concepts – circular flow, aggregate demand (my introductory lesson), or personal finance (not my lesson)

Scarcity/Trade… Jamestown activity (This is an activity you can easily find online. I have edited this lesson to incorporate French/Indian War, Silk Road, etc.)

Using Games for the Classroom – this folder includes many resources I found online to help guide a workshop I conducted years ago (a workshop on using games in the classroom). All resources are not mine except for Jenga.

Les Miserables Curriculum – This is a curriculum I created over the course of several years. Majority of the lessons are individual lessons that teach one specific economic concept (a few government). This curriculum has been my pride and joy. Please feel free to share but give credit where it is due (and no selling on any site).

George Washington/French and Indian War Day 1 Economics activity – I attended the Mount Vernon Teacher Institute in 2018. Since then, I have been trying to create lessons that incorporate GW into Economics. This is an activity I created that is like the Scarcity/Trade activity (some files may be the same). I did this on the first day of school. I have additional handouts and resources you can use to read to help you understand the backdrop to the history.

In the Heart of the Sea movie worksheets – I created these worksheets after watching this movie and after reading the book. I became fascinated with the story. In this folder, you have access to my handouts I personally created along with additional information (reading material) I found from the internet (that I used to help guide my lessons).

Cast Away movie worksheets – I created these worksheets years ago. Students would watch the film at the culmination of the first unit (basic fundamentals).

Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs (Economics) – I can’t remember if I created this one (looks like I did) or typed up something already created…anyway, enjoy.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movie worksheet – I created this years ago. Students would watch this movie at the end of the first nine weeks.

Business Project – this was something I created about fifteen years ago (I haven’t really used it since)
