Zero Days by Ruth Ware

Synopsis:

Hired by companies to break into buildings and hack security systems, Jack and her husband, Gabe, are the best penetration specialists in the business. But after a routine assignment goes horribly wrong, Jack arrives home to find her husband dead. To add to her horror, the police are closing in on their suspect—her.

Suddenly on the run and quickly running out of options, Jack must decide who she can trust as she circles closer to the real killer in this unputdownable and heart-pounding mystery from an author whose “propulsive prose keeps readers on the hook and refuses to let anyone off until all has been revealed”

First, let me say I am a huge Ruth Ware fan! Huge! If you have read any of my previous posts on her books, there are none that is critical of her writing…except now this one! I was so disappointed in this book. And honestly, I decided to skip to the end and read. I guess reading Freida McFadden books has made my mind constantly think about who the killer is (or what the mystery is). About 1/3 way into the book I knew (maybe not who the actually killer was BUT who played a part). I was forcing myself to read this book then decided to “practice what I preach” – use my time to read something good because I can’t get the cost of the book back (Kindle). So saying that…if you have never read a Ruth Ware book, DO NOT read this one. Read The It Girl. If you are a fan, still don’t read this one (sorry but not sorry). I really do not see how this book got such good reviews. It is not her normal writing style and is not a page turner like her other books.

Sorry, Ruth Ware. I still love you…just not this book!
