When We Believed in Mermaids and Egg/Bacon Pie

So honestly, I didn’t really cook this recipe as written.  I did do the crust which is the best I have ever made.  It is definitely a keeper! This New Zealand recipe is basically quiche without breaking the yolk.  I decided to use the crust and just do a quiche.  One day, though, I would like to try the sour cream in a quiche-style recipe.

The book…

Over 30,000 reviews. 4.5 star rating on Amazon.  Who wouldn’t buy the book?!?! Even the story line seems interesting… sister believed to be dead. Other sister on mission to find “believed to be dead” sister. And everyone lives happily ever after.

So should you read this book?  Um…if you still like reading Danielle Steel books.  No offense to Danielle Steel.  I used to love her books, like read all of them until halfway through college.  But…now I really don’t want to read raunchy stuff.  I googled the author and read she wrote “women’s fiction.”  I should have googled that before reading this book.  I am amazed there are women out there who want to read this stuff.  I decided to click on the bad reviews and read a few.  Pretty much all the bad reviews summed up what I did not like about this book.  One reviewer said it was “teenage fiction” but no way should teenagers read this stuff.

I hate saying DON’T read this book.  I think some of you will like it.  For me, though, it is just too unrealistic.
