The Inmate by Freida McFadden

Yep. A “Freida” book again! There are no other books as addicting as reading a “Freida” book (any of her books). MT read three of her books in one week! THREE in ONE week! We both said we had to set her books aside right now or we will not get anything else done (which is not great when school just started back from Christmas break).

What I am amazed about her books is how each truly has a different plot with a “slap yo mama” twist towards the end. I feel like I am pretty good at figuring out twists now; however, I have yet to figure out one of her book endings. This one was no different.

Synopsis: (Amazon link)

There are three rules Brooke Sullivan must follow as a new nurse practitioner at a men’s maximum-security prison:

1) Treat all prisoners with respect.

2) Never reveal any personal information.

3) Never EVER become too friendly with the inmates.

But none of the staff at the prison knows Brooke has already broken the rules. Nobody knows about her intimate connection to Shane Nelson, one of the penitentiary’s most notorious and dangerous inmates.

And they certainly don’t know that Shane was Brooke’s high school sweetheart—the star quarterback who is now spending the rest of his life in prison for a series of grisly murders. Or that Brooke’s testimony was what put him there.

But Shane knows.

And he will never forget.

If you have read my previous blogs, there really isn’t anything else I can say about her books. I love them all! I do not have to write much about how you should read one of her books (maybe start with this one) except this – I had a cold and didn’t take Nyquil (which I usually do at night) because I didn’t want to fall asleep before finishing the book! The sacrifices made to read a “Freida” book. I will leave with this…why haven’t one of her books been made into a movie yet?!?!?!? (cough, cough) What ‘cha waitin for?
