In a few days, millions will be traveling the road to visit family or take a brief vacation. Teachers, who according to research makes around 1500 decisions per day, will be enjoying a much needed break. What better time to grab a book and read? Here are a few of my top picks for Thanksgiving 2022.
- Any book by Freida McFadden – if you are a fan of psychological thrillers or need a great page-turner, you will not be disappointed in McFadden’s books. As of now, Do Not Disturb (a “play” on Hitchcock’s Psycho) and The Housemaid are two of my favorites. The Housemaid’s Secret will be released first part of 2023.
- If you are wanting military history, look no further than Adam Makos. Devotion is set to be released in theaters in a few days. A Higher Call, however, is still by far one of my all time favorite books!
- If you are fascinated by the Gilded Age and Titanic, read The Second Mrs. Astor by Shana Abe. I recently blogged about this book. It is a great historical fiction novel that gives a glimpse into the lives of the Gilded Age and the sinking of the Titanic.
- Want Suspense? You cannot go wrong with any of Lisa Jewell‘s books. I can’t really choose one because I have loved them all. Like Freida McFadden, her books are great page-turners that will leave you guessing until the very end. If you need a choice, start with Then She Was Gone.
- Want Horror? Stolen Tongues by Felix Blackwell will leave you creeped out (and it takes a lot to scare me while reading a book) or try Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak.
- Historical Fiction? – any book by Ruta Sepetys. She is one of my family writers who gives you a glimpse into parts of history that go untold. She also has created a graphic novel for kids – Between Shades of Gray, a book that can be shared between parent and child.
Food, friends, family, and football…all associated with Thanksgiving. Why not add a book to your list? Happy Reading!
