BOOKS I READ BUT DID NOT BLOG ABOUT

April 2023 – Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris (glad I read it but it seemed a little far-fetch)

June 2023 – The Plum Tree by Ellen Marie Wiseman (I may try to blog about this book later but just got back electricity after three days so a little behind on blogging…this is a great book, though, if you want a perspective of life for the average German during WW2)

July 2023 – The Last Flight…I meant to finish but didn’t… if I started a book and haven’t finished in a few weeks, it “ain’t” happening. I just couldn’t get into this book. I felt it was so unrealistic.

August 2023 Silence for the Dead (by Simone St. Jame) – This book started off ok but I just struggled to get it finished. It just seemed the “same old, same old.”

March 2024 – First Lie Wins (This was surprisingly good.)

April 2024 – A House with Good Bones (just weird)

July 2024 – Washington’s Secret War (good information but his books are “facts” heavy so you may get overwhelmed every now and then)

Aug 2024 – Ruth Ware – One Perfect Couple (I usually love Ruth Ware’s books but did not like this one at all…interesting “real tv” story but just didn’t mesh with me)

Aug 2024 – Murder Road by Simone St. James – I read it but have a hard time recommending someone to read it. Blah…

Nov. 2024Middle of the Night by Riley Sager… I am usually a big Riley Sager fan but this one was just ok.

Jan 2025 – Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter…so I really liked the movie after I watched it shortly after it was released which is the only reason I picked up this book to read. I stopped about 30% into the book. If you are interested in Lincoln’s life with some fictional vampire stuff, you will like. I would suggest, though, to cross reference biographical information with what is in the book (about his life, etc…not vampires LOL)

Jan. 2025 – The Last One at the Wedding by Jason Rekulak – So I actually finished this book unlike the “ka-jillion” I had checked out the last few months. I liked the book; however, it was sort of predictable. There really wasn’t anything in the storyline that hasn’t already been written about. It felt like a “Lifetime” movie. But…saying that, I did read it all the way through so that is something!

Feb. 2025 Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah – I liked this book. I do agree with some of the bad reviews but it was just an interesting story that kept me reading. Yes, she had to throw in some one-liner political thoughts. But that wasn’t enough to make me stop reading. Yes, she did talk about her surgery a lot…however, that is a life changing event so I do think it was ok to talk about. Yes, the storyline was weird and some may think it was unrealistic…however, I thought it worked…and…sometimes it is ok to just read a book to just read it.
